From the beginning, I've always been fascinated with animation, anthopmorphic characters in particular. Shows like Disney's Robin Hood, The Rescue Rangers, and Tiny Toons galvanized my admiration for them. I started to draw my favorite cartoon characters in 1986, like Cubbi and Sunni from the Gummi Bears. Friends and family alike either despised or were indifferent to my creations, and often thought ill of me when I drew them. I felt quite alone in my love of anthros. In 1989, I was encouraged to back down from drawing to pursue university studies. My art teacher and parents both believed: "No money in art!" I was an A+ art student. I went on to obtain a B.Sc. and do scientific work, which continues to this very day. My interest in drawing was reactivated in 1996, since finding out the furry fandom existed. I began training in figure drawing. In 1997, I established an "hour a day" rule. For the next 2 years, I drew, inked or coloured furry art, the small branch of figure drawing I concentrated on, for an average of 1 hour a day. I kept mental notes on how many hours ahead or behind I was. By 1999, I produced images that I felt were releasable to the public. Some of them may be seen in the archives. Now the furry fandom is my primary hobby. I've generated art, animation, and many friendships in this fandom and I've never been happier.
(Apologies for kinda cross-posting that message on your page, too. Between how few people read the news pages and it only being two days before all the adult stuff vanishes, many people might not even have found out until afterwards. Probably still won't...).
